Ken Gibson has served in a variety of capacities ranging from front line to education to executive positions in nonprofit organizations and government agencies since 1987. He has been associated with Pacific Science Center, Seattle Public Library, the Seattle Children's Museum, Point Defiance Zoological Society, Metro Parks Tacoma, and the Metro Parks Foundation. He is Principal of Leading Edge Solutions, LLC and has worked with organizations in Alaska and the Tri-Cities. Ken played a central role in the successful 2005 Neighbors for Parks campaign, which brought $84.3 million into Tacoma's park system. And has led fundraising efforts for an additional $12 million since 2001 for parks, zoos and science centers. He has a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University. His volunteer work includes serving on the Seattle University MNPL Visiting Committee, Group Health Foundation Tahoma Advisory Board, past chair of the Board of Directors of Rose House. He is active in Rotary, Kiwanis, and The Radio Club of Tacoma, serving as chairman of the Program Committee. He has also spoken to national audiences for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the National Recreation and Parks Association. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Committee on Planned Giving, and the Northwest Development Officer's Association. |
