South Sound Science Center

A generational crisis in math and science literacy is under way in Washington State and across the
country. This crisis is magnified in Pierce County. While the origins of the problem are complex,
solutions are urgently needed to ensure that young people's interest in math and science is not
diminished by our collective lack of effectiveness. It is important that we spark creativity and imagination
for our youth by augmenting and supporting educators' efforts to teach in ways that work for young
learners.
